Fr. Leo Hienrichs was a Franciscan priest, and pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Denver, CO. He was murdered on February 23, 1908 during Mass. He was shot through the heart while giving distributing communion at the 6am Mass. He prayed, "My Lord and My God" and died on the step of the altar to Our Lady.
He was named a Servant of God in 1928, but WWII paused his cause. People of the church in Denver, take up his cause. Read more here.
Mother Cabrini struck arock and a spring of water came forth and has run since. She did this after her sisters wrote to her that they didn't have enough water for the summer camp they ran for orphan girls. The Shrine of St. Francis Cabrini is there today. You can drink from the spring, visit the chapel, stay at the retreat center or climb the hill to venerate her relic and see the rocks she laid in the shape of the Sacred Heart. A statue of Jesus is at the top of the hill, overlooking the city of Denver. There is also a museum which has additional relics of St. Frances Cabrini. Learn more about the shrine here.
