Read this blog post first. Emil Kapaun was born April 20, 1916 in Pilsen, Kansas. He was a Catholic Army  Chaplain who was awarded the Medal of Honor. He died in a POW camp in  North Korea from malnutrition and pneumonia. The Diocese of Wichita opened his cause for canonization. His tomb is at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita and his museum is at his home parish,  St. John Nepomucene Church in Pilsen, Kansas. More information for a pilgrimage can be found here. It took 70 years to find and identify the remains of Ven. Emil Kapaun. He was declared a Venerable on February 24, 2025.
