Emil Kapaun was born April 20, 1916 in Pilsen, Kansas. He was a Catholic Chaplain who was awarded the Medal of Honor. He died in a POW camp in North Korea from malnutrition and pneumonia. The Diocese of Wichita opened his cause for canonization. His tomb is at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita and his museum is at his home parish, St. John Nepomucene Church in Pilsen, Kansas.
