Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, CSsR

Read more about Bl. Seelos here. His shrine  is in New Orleans. It is amazing and must visit if you are ever on the Gulf Coast. The museum tells about his remarkable life. He was beloved by the people in New Orleans for the short time he was there. He died serving the people during the Yellow Fever outbreak. Francis Xavier Seelos was the first beatificaion of the Jubille year 2000. Ask for his intercession. Help with his cause for canonization and visit his shrine!

Venerable Henriette Delille

Ven. Henriette DeLille is the first native born African American to have a cause opened by the Catholic Church. Her cause was opened in 1988 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. In 2010 she was named Venerable. She is the foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Family. She died in 1862. Watch this inspiring story, A Legacy of Love, of her life and the order she founded. Read more about her cause here. A miracle that happened in Arkansas is currently being investigated so she can be named a Blessed.

Venerable Jean Martin Zozine Eyraud

He was a French born priest you served in New Orleans, LA. He was known as being very holy and wise. He died in 1968. More to come!

Servant of God Verbis LaFleur

An Army Chaplain during WWII, he was killed off the coast of Japan while on board a POW submarine. He celebrated his first Mass after ordination at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. His cause was opened in 2020 by the Diocese of Lafaytette. Read more here.

Servant of God Charlene Richard

Her cause was opened in 2020 by the Diocese of Lafayette. Read more here. 

Servant of God Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue

His cause was opened in 2020 by the Diocese of Lafayette. Read about him and his cause here.

Servants of God The Shreveport Martyrs

The Five Priests known as The Shreveport Martyrs were just named Servants of God on June 15, 2023. These priests ministered to the sick during the Yellow Fever outbreak in 1873. They willingly went to Shreveport to serve the sick and dying, when others were fleeing the city. Their names are: Fr. Isidore Quemerais, Fr. Jean Pierre, Fr. Jean-Marie Biler, Fr. Louis Gergaud and Fr. Francois Levezouet. More to come about these Servants of God.
